"Denmark's Queen Margrethe presents the official law of self-rule to the Chairman of Greenland's council Josef Motzfeldt in Nuuk, Greenland on Sunday, June 21, 2009."
"After almost 300 years under Danish rule, the island of Greenland has just taken a big step toward sovereignty. Greenland passed a referendum last year requesting more powers from Copenhagen, and it was granted, taking effect on June 21st, 2009. Denmark still retains control of finances, foreign affairs, and defense, but will phase out an annual subsidy, and give over control of most of the islands natural resources. Additionally, Greenlandic is now the sole official language, and Greenlanders are now treated as a separate people under international law. Although the island is massive - with an area of over 2 million square kilometers (825,000 sq mi), its population is small, with just over 57,000 residents, 88% of Inuit descent and and 12% of European descent." Queen Elizabeth toured the stolenwealth with the same 'give-paper' freedom (speaking to African/Caribbean 'leaders'). What does it really mean?

Maybe, what they should be exchanging hand to hand are the blue-prints on how to actually, practically & technically tap the huge untapped natural resources (oil, gas, gold and diamonds) if it is the desire of the Inuit & on their terms. (African leaders -ALL OF THEM- accepted the rules their rulers made in 1890 in Berlin. ...and they still do). Just because bruddah/sistah are called free by their European rulers does not mean the Danes won't be back in a new different suits. How do we know? When the early slave ships carrying free afrikans arrived within sight of the 'american' coastline, the crew would celebrate and often open up the remaining food stores to the afrikan captives and share clothes with the afrikan captives. There was rejoicing and even our women would dance. There were some, however, who did not dance. Some who did not even smile. Some recognized the beginning of the cruelest trans-atlantic profanization. The recognition would survive during the mock of an american holydaze for Fredrick Douglass (his 4th of july). And many more years later, it still survives, (if just, by a crucial, crucial thread).
