100 Years Ago - Federal Reserve Note...

1913 ...a group of bankers funded and staffed Woodrow Wilson's campaign for President to push the Federal Reserve Act through Congress. He had committed to sign this act. a Senator, Nelson Aldrich, maternal grandfather to the Rockefellers, pushed the Federal Reserve Act through Congress just before Christmas when much of Congress was on vacation.

Poor relief

A new study underscores the severity of racial bias in drug-related law enforcement. According to Human Rights Watch, African-Americans were arrested as much as five and a half times as whites on drug charges every year for the past three decades. The trend dates back to 1980, the earliest date with complete data.

30 Days Reality Show - In Jail

Whenever you see this type of "let me put myself in their shoes" documentary, always be cautious. This is a pretty good episode of 30 Days in that it gives those who've never been, a good look into what Jail (not Prison) is like. The downside, of course, is that we don't really get to see the lives of the inmates once they've served their sentence. That, of course, is an important element. Unfortunately, it's missing here.
